Owiti Children's Home
Owiti’s Children’s Home is a Youth International Children’s Home established in East Africa in Nyamasaria Village, Kisumu Town in Kenya.
The Home caters for 25 Orphaned children (both male and female) who have lost parents due to death, broken homes and abandonment. The home has a potential to house 50 children and feed another 50 children subject to availability of funding and support.
Objectives:
(a) To Provide shelter, food, warmth and basic necessities to the orphans
(b) To provide the necessary Education for the orphans
(c) To empower the youth to be more confident, responsible &
self reliant
(d) To train and empower the project with skilled workers in
every area needed for the project success
(e) Build necessary dorms, houses, clinic and play facilities
necessary for the running of the project
(f) Provide the necessary vehicles to manage the day to
day running of activities
The home endeavors to create a family atmosphere for the children to experience love and security and to have their basic needs met.
Children who were forced by circumstances to drop out of school to become breadwinners for their siblings can have a chance to be children again and pursue education for a sure foundation of the remaining family.
Partnering with Action Community Resource Development (ACOMREDE) has enabled the orphanage to access:
1.Clothes, toys and books from the United Kingdom
2. Individual donations to the children’s education and welfare
3.Equipment to run and maintain the Home e.g. Gas cooker, Fridge and washing Machine
4.Publicity for the plight of an orphaned African child in Kenya
